Preparation

  • Pour enough milk or heavy cream into the shallow dish to cover the bottom completely.
  • Let the milk settle for a few moments.

Adding Colors

  • Carefully place drops of food coloring in different spots around the milk.
  • Aim for at least 3-4 different colors for maximum visual impact.

Introducing Soap

  • Dip a cotton swab into dish soap.
  • Gently touch the cotton swab to the surface of the milk in one of the color spots.

Observe the Reaction

  • Observe as the colors react and swirl away from the cotton swab!

  • Continue to add drops of dish soap with a clean swab to see how the colors change and interact.
