Craft delightful baking soda ornaments that not only decorate your space but also invite mindfulness into your creating process.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons corn syrup (optional)
  • A mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • A whisk or spoon
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper or a silicone mat (optional)
  • Cookie cutters
  • Rolling pin

Instructions

  1. Begin by pouring 2 cups of baking soda into your mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate cup, measure 1 cup of water, then add 1 cup of white vinegar.
  3. Pour this bubbly mixture into the bowl with baking soda and watch as it fizzes.
  4. Once the fizz settles, stir the mixture gently. Add corn syrup if desired.
  5. Gradually knead the dough with your hands until smooth.
  6. Roll out the dough to about half an inch thick.
  7. Cut out shapes using your cookie cutters.
  8. Place the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Use a straw to create a hole for hanging.
  10. Let the ornaments air dry for 24 hours or bake at 200°F for 2 to 3 hours.
  11. Once dried, you can paint or decorate as desired.

Notes
