- 1/2 cup White vinegar

- Pipe cleaners (multiple colors)
- Parchment paper or a nonstick surface
- Small containers (like cups or jars)
- Spoon (for stirring)
- Tray or surface to contain the project
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace. Lay down parchment paper or a nonstick surface to keep things tidy.
- Combine one cup of baking soda with a half cup of water in a mixing bowl. Watch it clump together.
- Stir the mixture slowly until it resembles a thick paste.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir until well-blended.
- Shape a pipe cleaner into a tree form, bending and twisting it into branches.
- Place the pipe cleaner tree into a small container to hold it steady.
- Cover the tree with the baking soda mixture, ensuring it’s thoroughly coated.
- Mix a half cup of vinegar with a few drops of food coloring in another bowl and pour it over your baking soda trees.
- Allow the trees to sit undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
- Remove the trees from the containers and tap off excess baking soda to reveal the colorful crystals.
Notes
These crystal trees can be reused or broken down for future crafts. Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture.
