A calming DIY project to create beautiful crochet succulents that add a touch of creativity to your space without the need for sunlight or water.

  • Total Time: 90 minutes
  • Yield: 2-4 succulents depending on size

Ingredients

  • Worsted weight yarn (earthy greens, warm browns, or bright colors)
  • A crochet hook (size H/8 or similar)
  • Scissors (for snipping yarn)
  • Yarn needle (for weaving ends)
  • Stuffing (polyester fiberfill or cotton)
  • Plant pot or container (small, to hold your succulent)
  • Optional: decorative stones or soil for a real succulent feel

Instructions

  1. Begin by creating a slipknot with your chosen yarn.
  2. Crochet a chain of eight stitches.
  3. Turn and work single crochet stitches into the second chain from your hook.
  4. Continue to single crochet into each stitch across.
  5. As you build up rows, add in color changes or textures.
  6. When you feel satisfied with your leaf structure, finish off by leaving a long tail for assembly.
  7. Next, sew the leaves together to form a delightful rosette shape.
  8. Insert stuffing gently into the base.
  9. Place your succulent into the pot or container.
  10. Finally, add decorative stones or soil at the base for a finishing touch.

Notes

Regular dusting keeps the succulents looking fresh. Hand wash if they get dirty and allow them to air dry.
