This butter slime recipe creates a soft, fluffy mixture with a smooth, buttery feel. It’s a hands-on craft for kids and adults to enjoy together, whether you’re planning a rainy-day activity, a party project, or a little sensory play.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup glue
  • 1/2 cup shaving cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Contact lens solution (amount varies)
  • Lotion (small amount)
  • Food coloring (few drops)

Instructions

  1. Color the glue. Pour 1 cup of glue into a bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring and stir until the color is evenly mixed.
  2. Add the shaving cream. Measure 1/2 cup of shaving cream. Stir it into the colored glue until the mixture looks fluffy and consistent.
  3. Mix in the baking soda. Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and stir well.
  4. Add the contact lens solution gradually. Pour in a little at a time, stirring between additions. Stop when the mixture begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Knead the slime. Use your hands to knead it until it reaches the texture you want. If it still feels too sticky, continue kneading before deciding whether it needs more solution.
  6. Make it buttery. Add a little lotion and knead it in to soften the slime.

Notes

This is slime, not a washable crochet project. Keep it away from clothing, carpets, upholstery, and other porous surfaces to prevent stains.
