No reviews

Create a vibrant fall leaf collage using torn pieces of colored paper to represent the beauty of autumn leaves.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of 9 by 12 inch white cardstock
  • 4 sheets of 9 by 12 inch colored cardstock in red, yellow, orange, and brown (1 for each child)
  • 1 bottle of 4 fluid ounces washable white school glue
  • 1 pair of adult scissors
  • 6 pairs of child-safe scissors with rounded tips

Instructions

  1. Cover the table with a plastic tablecloth or drop cloth to protect the surface.
  2. Prepare the materials by cutting colored cardstock into small, manageable pieces before the children arrive.
  3. Give each child one white cardstock sheet and several small pieces of red, yellow, orange, and brown paper.
  4. Instruct the children to tear the colored paper into smaller shapes.
  5. Have the children brush a thin layer of glue on their white cardstock.
  6. Encourage them to press the torn paper pieces into a loose leaf form on the glued area.
  7. Remind the children to use two thin layers of glue for better adhesion rather than one heavy puddle.

Notes

This project promotes fine motor skills and creativity, allowing children to express themselves with their own unique designs.
