Learn how to create beautiful coffee filter roses for a delightful crafting experience. This DIY project invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Ingredients

  • White or colored coffee filters
  • Green pipe cleaners or floral wire
  • Scissors
  • Watercolor paint or food coloring (optional)
  • A shallow dish (for dyeing)
  • Paper towels or a cloth
  • A small brush (if using watercolor)

Instructions

  1. Start by stacking three or four coffee filters on top of each other.
  2. Use your scissors to round the edges of the filters, creating a petal shape.
  3. If you’d like to add color, dip your brush in watercolor or food coloring and gently paint the filters.
  4. Once dry, begin at the center of your stack and gently twist the filters around your finger to form a tight bud shape.
  5. Take a pipe cleaner or a piece of floral wire and wrap it snugly around the base of the flower.
  6. Begin to pull apart each petal layer delicately.
  7. Adjust the petals as you desire, bending them slightly for a more natural look.
  8. Set your finished rose aside and consider its place in your home.

Notes

Keep your coffee filter roses in a cool, dry location and refresh their appearance with a light spritz of water if needed.
