Ingredients
- Clear glue
- Food coloring
- Wax paper
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
Instructions
- Tint the glue. Put clear glue in a bowl and stir in a few drops of food coloring. Add the color gradually until you get the shade you want.
- Paint the shapes. Lay a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface. Use the paintbrush to spread the colored glue into your chosen shapes. Aim for an even layer so the pieces dry consistently.
- Let the glue dry completely. Keep the wax paper flat and leave the shapes undisturbed until they are fully dry. Thicker areas may need longer to set.
- Peel them free. Once dry, carefully lift each suncatcher from the wax paper. If a piece still feels tacky or stretches as you peel, let it dry longer.
- Trim the edges. Use scissors to remove any uneven excess. An adult should help younger children with cutting.
- Display in a sunny window. Hang the finished suncatchers where sunlight can shine through and make the colors sparkle.
Notes
These glue suncatchers are decorative crafts, not washable household items. Keep them dry and handle them gently, as moisture or rough handling may distort the dried glue.
