Chain 1 and work 1 sc in the same stitch, then work 1 sc in each sc across. Turn. There are 7 sc. Work 1 row even. For the next decrease rows, chain 1, work sc2tog over the first 2 stitches, then work 1 sc in each remaining stitch across. Turn. Work 1 row even after each decrease row. Continue alternating a decrease row and an even row until 4 sc remain. Chain 1. Work 1 sc in each of the 4 stitches on this side, chain 7, then work 1 sc in each of the 4 stitches on the first side. Turn. Next row: Chain 1, work 1 sc in each of the next 4 sc, 1 sc in each of the 7 chain stitches, and 1 sc in each of the last 4 sc. Turn. You should have 15 sc across.

Chain 3, then work dc evenly around the lower edge. Join with a sl st to the top of the chain 3. Fasten off. For neck edging: Attach MC or CC at the back neck. Chain 1 and work sc evenly around the neck opening. Join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off. Use the yarn needle to weave in the remaining ends securely.
Notes
The pattern uses common stitches, but the neck shaping and assembly call for careful stitch counting. Make sure to check the fit of your cozy with the intended bottle before finishing as the pattern does not specify a finished circumference.
