Ingredients
- Worsted weight (weight 4, medium) cotton yarn, about 100 yards total
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in the ends
- Sharp scissors
- Two stitch markers (optional)

Instructions
- Make a foundation chain of 30 chains.
- Row 1: Make one double crochet in the fourth chain from the hook. Make one double crochet in each chain across for a total of 28 double crochet.
- Row 2: Chain 3 (turning chain), make one double crochet in the first stitch, skip the next stitch, then make one double crochet in each stitch across until two stitches remain, skip one stitch, and make one double crochet in the last stitch (26 double crochet).
- Row 3: Chain 3 and turn, make one double crochet in the first stitch, skip one stitch, then make one double crochet in each stitch across until two stitches remain, skip one stitch, and make one double crochet in the last stitch (24 double crochet).
- Continue shaping for Rows 4 through 12, decreasing one double crochet on each row until you reach 6 double crochet in Row 12.
- For Row 13, chain 3 and turn, make one double crochet in the first stitch, skip one stitch, make one double crochet in the next two stitches, skip one stitch, and make one double crochet in the last stitch (4 double crochet).
- For Row 14, chain 3 and turn, skip one stitch, make one double crochet in each of the next two stitches, and skip the final stitch (2 double crochet).
- For Row 15, chain 3 and turn, make one double crochet in each of the 2 remaining stitches. Fasten off, leaving a tail about 6 inches long.
- Weave in the ends through the back of several stitches and trim close to the fabric without cutting the stitches.
- Lightly block the bandana if necessary by pinning it to the finished measurements, misting with water, and letting it dry completely.
