Instructions

Make a magic ring. Chain 1, then work 6 single crochet into the ring. Pull the yarn tail gently to close, slip stitch to the first single crochet, and place the marker.
Round 2: Chain 1. Work 2 single crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to the first single crochet.
Round 3: Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet in the next stitch, then an increase in the following stitch. Repeat around.
Round 4: Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, then increase in the next stitch. Repeat around.
Round 5: Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, then increase in the next stitch. Repeat around.
Round 6: Chain 1. Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 4 stitches, then increase in the next stitch. Repeat around.

Notes

Avoid fuzzy yarn for the first attempt because it hides the top loops and makes counting harder. If you make a cauldron for a young child, skip loose buttons, long loops, and unsecured small parts.
