Instructions
- Begin by creating a foundation chain of 50 stitches (ch).
- For Row 1, dc in the 4th ch from the hook. Continue to dc across the row, ending with 48 dc.
- For Row 2, ch 3 (turning chain) and dc in each dc across, maintaining 48 dc.
- Repeat Row 2 until your piece measures approximately 12 inches (30 cm) or until you have completed 16 rows.
- Create the hanging section by chaining 40.
- Join the end of the ch to the top corner of the square using a sl st into the corner stitch.
- Skip the next 3 stitches back along the edge. In the 4th stitch, make 1 dc and repeat for another 3 dc to create an indent.
- Make three additional 3-dc groups evenly spaced along the top edge for a total of about 4 groups.
- Fasten off and weave in any ends. If needed, gently spray your finished crochet and shape it, leaving it to dry on a flat surface.
