Ingredients
- Worsted weight yarn in green (for leaves)
- Worsted weight yarn in brown or beige (for pots)
- A suitable crochet hook (size G or H recommended)
- Scissors
- A tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
- Stuffing (optional, for added texture)
- Optional decorative elements like tiny pebbles, fabric scraps, or additional colors of yarn
Instructions
- Start by creating a foundation chain. For leaves, make a chain of six to eight stitches, depending on the size you’d like.
- Create the first row of leaves by working single crochet stitches back across the chain.
- Begin shaping the leaf. Add increases and decreases by working into the same stitch or skipping stitches as you build the curved shape.
- Once your leaf has reached the desired size, finish off the last stitch.
- To make a pot, change to your brown yarn. Chain six, join in a circle, and work around with single crochets to form the base.
- Gradually increase your rounds to widen the pot, then work straight up to form the sides.
- Finish the pot by securing the last stitch, weaving in the ends with your tapestry needle, and trimming any excess yarn.
- Assemble your plant by tucking in the leaves and using optional stuffing if you’d like a more robust plant shape.
Notes
These crocheted houseplants are low-maintenance and perfect for areas lacking natural light. Dust gently with a soft cloth to keep them looking lovely.
