- Pipe cleaners
- Baking soda

Instructions
- Shape the hearts. Bend the pipe cleaners into heart forms. Adjust the curves and point until you’re happy with each shape.
- Make a saturated solution. Pour water into the container and stir in baking soda until no more dissolves. Add the baking soda gradually so you can tell when the solution is saturated.
- Add the hearts. Place the shaped pipe cleaners in the container so they are in contact with the solution.
- Leave them undisturbed. Set the container somewhere safe and let it sit. Check periodically as crystals form on the pipe cleaners over time.
Notes
Handle the finished hearts gently, as the crystal coating may be delicate. Avoid rinsing or soaking, and store them in a dry place.
