A wonderfully creative and calming project to make a beaded bumblebee brooch that adds whimsy to your attire.

Ingredients

  • Assorted glass beads (yellow, black, and clear for highlights)
  • Black thread or embroidery floss
  • Beading needle
  • Craft felt (black and yellow)
  • Scissors
  • Brooch pin
  • Glue (fabric or craft glue)
  • Optional: Small piece of fabric for backing

Instructions

  1. Begin by cutting an oval shape from your black felt.
  2. Cut two smaller, oval pieces from the yellow felt for the bumblebee’s stripes.
  3. Using your black thread, gently stitch the yellow stripes onto the black oval shape.
  4. Thread your needle with black or yellow thread and begin adding beads.
  5. Continue adding beads until you have outlined the desired shape.
  6. Once you have finished adding beads, take a moment to admire your work.
  7. For the wings, cut out two shapes from your craft felt and position them above the body.
  8. Finally, attach a brooch pin to the back and apply glue to secure it.

Notes

Consider using different colors or embellishments for a unique flair. This project is also great for children under supervision.
