Ingredients
- White flowers: Choose blooms you would like to display.
- Borax: Mixed into the water to create the crystal-forming solution.
- Water: Enough to prepare the solution and immerse the flowers.
- A container for mixing: Stable and suitable for holding the solution and allowing the flowers to hang.
- String: To tie around the stems and suspend the flowers.
- A sunny location: For setting the container undisturbed.
Instructions
- Boil the water. An adult should handle the hot water.
- Dissolve the borax in the boiled water and stir until fully dissolved.
- Trim the flower stems to the desired length for display.
- Tie string around the stem of each flower and secure it, leaving enough string to suspend the bloom.
- Hang the flowers in the solution, ensuring they do not touch the sides or each other.
- Leave the container in a sunny spot for several hours or overnight to allow crystals to form.
- Remove the flowers carefully and enjoy the crystals that have formed.
Notes
Treat the finished flowers as decorative objects and handle them gently to avoid damaging the crystals.
