Ingredients
- Clear ornaments: 1 or more
- Glitter: Several colors (blue, purple, pink)
- Water: Enough to fill the ornament
- Food coloring: Blue, purple, pink (start with 1-2 drops)
- Funnel: 1
- Mixing sticks: A few
- Optional decorations: Stickers or paint
Instructions
- Remove the ornament top. Carefully take the top off the clear ornament. If the ornament is delicate or difficult to open, let an adult do this part.
- Fill the ornament with water. Place the funnel in the opening and use it to guide water into the ornament. Pour slowly, leaving room for the glitter.
- Add the glitter. Spoon a few amounts of glitter in different colors into the water. Use a funnel to help direct the glitter into the opening.
- Add the food coloring. Add a drop or two of food coloring to create a galaxy effect. Start with a small amount.
- Replace the top securely. Carefully put the ornament top back in place and check that it is fitted securely.
- Shake gently. Hold the ornament securely and shake it gently to mix the water, glitter, and food coloring.
- Decorate the outside, if desired. Add stickers or paint to personalize the ornament, keeping decorations clear of the top and hanging area.
- Hang your ornament. Once the top is secure and any paint is dry, display the ornament.
Notes
An adult should handle any small or fragile clear ornament, especially when removing or replacing its top. Glitter can be messy, so use a tray or washable work surface for cleanup.
