Transform plain glass into delicate, glowing home décor with pressed flowers. This beginner-friendly craft involves decorating glass candle holders with real pressed flowers and a clear sealant.

Ingredients

  • 1 Glass candle holder – clean and dry with a smooth surface
  • Real pressed flowers – fully dry and flat, a few extra pieces recommended
  • Clear adhesive or sealer suitable for glass – follow product instructions
  • 1 Small, soft brush or applicator – for controlled application of sealer
  • Tweezers – for positioning small flowers without pinching
  • Clean work surface – protect with disposable covering or craft mat
  • Paper or scrap card – for testing layout and keeping flowers organized
  • Lint-free cloth – to clean the glass before decorating
  • 1 Candle – select one that fits the holder and ensure it can be used safely

Instructions

  1. Prepare a protected work area. Cover the table and lay out your flowers, applicator, adhesive or sealant, and clean cloth. Read the product label before opening it, including any instructions about ventilation, drying, or protective equipment.
  2. Clean the glass candle holder. Remove dust and fingerprints with a clean, lint-free cloth. Let the surface dry completely.
  3. Sort the pressed flowers. Arrange the flowers where you can see their shapes and colors. Set aside pieces that are cracked, damp, or badly folded. Handle delicate petals gently; tweezers can help you lift and move small pieces.
  4. Plan the placement before applying adhesive. Try different layouts on the table or on a piece of paper, leaving enough open glass for light to pass through if you want a delicate, airy appearance.
  5. Test the product if needed. Check directions and test on a discreet area or separate piece of glass.
  6. Attach the flowers carefully. Apply product according to its label in small areas. Position one pressed flower at a time using a brush or tweezers.
  7. Check the arrangement as you work. Step back occasionally and turn the holder to see the design from different angles.
  8. Apply the clear finish as directed once the flowers are positioned. Avoid heavy coats to prevent obscuring details.
  9. Let the holder dry fully in a clean, undisturbed place. Follow the stated drying or curing time on the product packaging.
  10. Inspect before use to ensure flowers are secure and the design does not interfere with the candle’s fit or safe use.

Notes

Take your time with placement and sealing for the best results. Ensure the adhesive is suitable for glass and follow all safety instructions.
