Create a cozy, luminous centerpiece with this DIY Magical Autumn Light project, using natural materials and string lights to bring warmth to your space.

Ingredients

  • 1 glass jar or small lantern
  • 1 set of battery-operated string lights
  • Autumn leaves (real or faux)
  • Optional: translucent tissue paper in shades of orange and yellow
  • Optional: twine or ribbon for embellishment
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or hot glue gun
  • Optional: small natural elements like acorns or pinecones

Instructions

  1. Begin in a quiet space where you feel comfortable and undistracted. Set out your materials.
  2. If using real autumn leaves, ensure they are clean and dry.
  3. Take your jar and place the string lights inside it, allowing the lights to cascade gently.
  4. Begin attaching leaves to the outside of the jar with the glue.
  5. Once your leaves are in place, add embellishments if desired.
  6. Once satisfied, place a battery in the string lights and turn them on.
  7. Step back and admire your handiwork.

Notes

Consider swapping out leaves for seasonal flowers or adding scents for a personal touch to your DIY project.
