Ingredients
- Candle holder: 1, clean holder with an exterior surface suitable for decoration.
- Pressed flowers: assorted, dry and intact flowers or petals.
- Glue: suitable for the holder’s surface and compatible with dried flowers.
- Scissors: 1 pair, for trimming loose stems or uneven edges.
- Wax paper: 1 sheet, to protect your work surface.
- Candles: compatible candle that fits the holder.
Instructions
- Prepare your work area. Lay wax paper over a flat, stable surface. Set out the pressed flowers, candle holder, glue, and scissors. Keep the candle aside until the holder is completely dry.
- Check the holder and flowers. Make sure the outside of the candle holder is clean and dry. Look over the flowers and decide which pieces you want to use. Handle them carefully.
- Plan a small section. Before applying glue, place a few flowers against the holder to preview the arrangement.
- Apply a thin layer of glue. Spread a small amount of glue over one section of the holder’s exterior.
- Arrange the flowers. Place the pressed flowers onto the glued area and press each one gently.
- Continue around the holder. Add flowers to another small section, repeating the same process until you reach the look you want.
- Trim only if needed. Use scissors carefully for any loose edges.
- Let the glue dry completely. Set the holder aside in a safe place where it will not be bumped.
- Check the finished decoration. Once dry, look for flowers that have lifted or loose pieces.
- Use the holder with care. Place a compatible candle inside only if the holder is designed for it and the decoration is safely away from heat and flame.
Notes
The project is suitable for beginners and children with adult supervision. Ensure the holder is safe for the type of candle you choose and avoid using flammable materials close to the flame.
