Ingredients
- Fresh pumpkin seeds (cleaned and dried)
- Food coloring (various autumn shades like orange, yellow, and brown)
- White vinegar (a tiny splash)
- Ziplock bags (one for each color)
- Paper or canvas for collaging
- Glue (white craft glue works well)
- Optional: additional decorative items such as leaves, glitter, or slips of paper for embellishment
Instructions
- Begin by cleaning the pumpkin seeds. Rinse them thoroughly in water, ensuring any remaining pumpkin remnants wash away.
- Spread the seeds on a clean towel and allow them to dry completely.
- Once dry, add a small handful of seeds to a Ziplock bag. Select your food coloring and add just a few drops.
- Pour a tiny splash of white vinegar into the bag. Seal the bag tightly.
- Shake the bag gently until the seeds take on the color completely.
- Carefully remove the seeds from the bag and lay them out on a paper towel to dry.
- Once dried, gather your crafting base—your paper or canvas.
- Arrange the seeds in a pleasing way and use glue to adhere them to your base.
- Allow your artwork to dry completely and appreciate the process.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with colors or skip the vinegar if you prefer. Store completed collages in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
