No reviews

This easy cornstarch and dish soap slime recipe makes a soft, squishy sensory material with just a few household supplies. It’s a simple activity for kids to enjoy with an adult nearby, perfect for rainy afternoons or playdates.

Ingredients

  • Cornstarch
  • Dish soap
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Airtight container

Instructions

  1. Combine the cornstarch and dish soap in a mixing bowl. Begin with small amounts and add more as needed while checking the texture.
  2. Stir the ingredients with a spoon until they start to come together. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl as you stir.
  3. Keep stirring until the mixture reaches a slime-like consistency. If it still looks separate, continue mixing and adjust as necessary.
  4. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to customize the slime. You can leave it uncolored if preferred.
  5. Mix thoroughly so the color spreads throughout the mixture, checking for concentrated streaks.
  6. Transfer the finished slime to an airtight container for storage when playtime is over.

Notes

Supervise children during the activity and keep the slime away from mouths and eyes. Clean hands and the work area after handling the mixture.
