Ingredients
- 1 white foam or wire wreath form, 14 inches across
- 12 white cotton or gauze fabric squares, 10 inches by 10 inches each
- 12 small polyester fiberfill pieces, about 2 tablespoons each
- 1 strand of battery-operated warm white LED fairy lights, 6 to 8 feet long
- 12 pieces of white thread, each 8 inches long
- 1 spool of black embroidery floss, at least 2 feet long
- 1 roll of white ribbon, 1 inch wide and 24 inches long
- 1 small bottle of fabric-safe glue, 2 fluid ounces (optional)
- 1 mini hot glue gun
- 6 hot glue sticks, 4 inches long each
- 1 pair of fabric scissors
- 1 ruler, 12 inches long
- 1 pencil
- 1 pair of craft tweezers (optional)
- 1 table covering, about 2 feet by 3 feet
- 1 pair of heat-resistant craft gloves (optional)
- 2 fresh AA batteries
Instructions
- Cover your table before you begin.
- Place the wreath form in the center of your covered table.
- Measure and cut 12 fabric squares that each measure 10 inches by 10 inches.
- Make the first ghost by placing one fabric square flat on the table and putting about 2 tablespoons of fiberfill in the center.
- Gather the fabric just beneath the stuffing and tie it with one 8-inch piece of white thread.
- Shape the ghost with your fingers. Tie small black embroidery floss eyes and a short mouth.
- Repeat the same process for the remaining 11 ghosts.
- Arrange the 12 ghosts around the wreath form before gluing them.
- Attach each ghost to the wreath with a small dot of hot glue at the gathered neck.
- Let the glue cool for 20 to 30 minutes before adding the lights.
- Weave the warm white light strand around the inside and outside edges of the wreath.
- Secure the ribbon to the top of the wreath with a tight knot.
- Step back and look at the wreath from several feet away and make any necessary adjustments.
- Finish by trimming loose thread ends and removing visible glue strings.
- Turn the lights on and check that the battery pack remains accessible.
Notes
Several supplies may already be around your home, such as an old white pillowcase for fabric or clean cotton balls instead of fiberfill.
