A playful, no-bake dessert that turns fruit, pudding, and clear cups into an underwater scene, perfect for family gatherings and children’s parties.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic or glass dessert cups
  • Blue pudding or blue gelatin, prepared according to package directions
  • Crushed cookies or graham crackers for a sandy layer
  • Small pieces of fruit, such as berries, mandarin segments, or grapes cut lengthwise
  • Fish-shaped candies or other ocean-themed decorations
  • Spoons for serving
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cup or liquid measuring jug, if needed for preparing the packaged dessert
  • Knife and cutting board for preparing fruit
  • Optional: blue food coloring, if tinting a pale pudding
  • Optional: small bowls or trays for setting out toppings

Instructions

  1. Choose your cups. Set out clean, clear dessert cups on a tray.
  2. Prepare the blue layer. Make the pudding or gelatin according to the package instructions. If using uncolored pudding, add a little blue food coloring and stir until the color is even.
  3. Chill as needed. Follow the package directions for setting or chilling.
  4. Prepare the sandy layer. Place the cookies or graham crackers in a sealed bag and crush them into small crumbs.
  5. Prepare the fruit. Wash and dry the fruit. Cut it into small, manageable pieces.
  6. Add the first layer. Spoon some crushed cookies into the bottom of each cup to create a seabed.
  7. Add the blue dessert layer. Carefully spoon in the prepared pudding or gelatin.
  8. Create another layer if desired. Add a second small layer of crumbs or fruit, then top with more blue dessert.
  9. Decorate the aquarium. Arrange fruit pieces and fish-shaped candies on top.
  10. Chill and serve. Refrigerate the parfaits until serving time.

Notes

Use sturdy, unbreakable cups for young children, and ensure decorations are appropriate for all ages. Refrigerate prepared cups until served and keep toppings separate to maintain texture.
