Ingredients
- Colored tissue paper (various colors)
- A round balloon
- Water
- Flour
- A small LED tea light
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Bowl
- String or wire (optional)
- Marker
Instructions
- Inflate the balloon to your desired size and tie it off.
- Mix equal parts water and flour in a bowl to create a paste.
- Cut colorful tissue paper into various fish shapes.
- Dip your paintbrush into the paste and spread it over one section of the balloon.
- Press the cut tissue paper onto the pasted balloon.
- Continue applying paste and layering tissue paper, then allow each layer to dry slightly.
- Let the lantern dry completely after covering the balloon.
- Pop the balloon and remove it from inside the lantern.
- Place the LED tea light inside the lantern.
- Hang using string or wire, or set it on a surface.
Notes
Experiment with different materials for unique textures. For a seasonal touch, change the designs and colors of the lanterns.
