Ingredients
- Mason jar: 1, clean with a lid that fits securely
- Craft paint: Pink, blue, black, and purple
- Cotton balls: Amount varies based on jar size
- Water: Amount varies based on jar size
- Silver glitter: Generous amount for first layer, smaller amounts for later layers
- Craft sticks: Optional, for guiding cotton (as needed)
Instructions
- Fill the mason jar about one-quarter full with water.
- Pour a generous amount of silver glitter into the water.
- Squeeze one color of craft paint into the jar, swirling it in a circle as you add it.
- Screw the lid on tightly and shake the jar to combine the paint, water, and glitter.
- Pull the cotton balls apart into loose, stretched pieces.
- Remove the lid and add the stretched cotton, guiding it toward the edges of the jar.
- Add cotton until it has soaked up most of the water.
- Pour in more water until the jar is about one-third full.
- Squeeze in another paint color and add more glitter if desired.
- Twist the jar to mix the colors rather than shaking it.
- Place more loose cotton into the jar and allow it to absorb most of the liquid.
- Continue adding water, a new paint color, glitter if desired, and stretched cotton.
- Finish until the jar is full, topping with cotton, leaving room for the lid.
- Screw on the lid and optionally turn the sealed jar upside down for further mixing if desired.
