- Worsted weight yarn (weight 4 medium) – about 330 yards from two 170-yard, 100 g skeins
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Polyester fiberfill – about 3 ounces (85 g)

Instructions
- Chain 22 to start the foundation chain.

- Repeat Row 2 for 16 more rows (Rows 3 through 18), maintaining 20 double crochet stitches.
- Row 19: Chain 2 and turn. Make 1 double crochet in the first 8 stitches, then make 2 double crochet in the next stitch. Continue as directed until you have 22 double crochet stitches.
- Row 20: Chain 2 and turn. Make 1 double crochet in each stitch across.
- Repeat Row 20 for 4 rows (Rows 21 through 24), keeping 22 double crochet stitches.
- Row 25: Chain 2 and turn. Make 1 double crochet in the first 5 stitches, then make a decrease across the next 2 stitches. Continue as directed.
- Row 26: Chain 2 and turn. Make 1 double crochet in each stitch across.
- Continue with decreasing rows until you have completed the shaping, ending with 16 stitches.
- Fasten off leaving a 12-inch tail. Make a second matching panel by repeating Rows 1 through 30.
- Lay the two panels together with the right sides facing outward.
- Sew around the sides and top, leaving the bottom open.
- Embroider two small oval eyes and a simple curved mouth with black yarn.
- Fill the ghost with polyester fiberfill, then sew the opening closed.
- Weave in the ends by running the yarn needle through several stitches and trim the tail.
