Ingredients
- Worsted weight yarn, weight 4 medium, 100% acrylic, 2 skeins of 170 yards each (340 yards total)
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Small scissors
- Tape measure
- Stitch markers (optional)
Instructions
- Chain 128 to create the foundation chain.
- For Row 1, work 1 double crochet (dc) in the fourth chain from the hook. Continue with 1 dc in each chain across (total of 125 dc).
- Turn your work. Make 3 chains for the turning chain and work 1 dc in each stitch across (total of 125 dc).
- Repeat the turning and dc process for Rows 3 through 8.
- Measure the width of the fabric after Row 8; it should be close to 4 inches (10 cm).
- For the finishing edge, chain 1 and turn your work. Work 1 single crochet (sc) in the side of each row across the short end (8 sc total).
- Continue around the trim with 1 sc in each stitch across the foundation-chain edge, 8 sc along the second short end, and 1 sc in each stitch across the final row. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
- Fasten off, leaving a 6-inch tail and weave in the ends with a yarn needle.
- Shape the finished trim on a towel and let it dry flat.
Notes
The foundation chain can pull tighter than the later rows, consider adjusting the hook size for the chain if necessary. Follow care instructions for washing acrylic yarn. Avoid hot iron contact with the fabric.
