Learn how to create soft, stretchy butter slime that spreads like clay and holds swirls with a satisfying texture.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • White school glue (PVA), 4 to 6 oz
  • Contact lens solution (must contain boric acid/borate)
  • Baking soda, about 1/2 tsp
  • Soft modeling clay, 1 to 2 oz
  • Mixing bowl and spoon/spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Optional colorant
  • Airtight container

Instructions

  1. Pour the glue into a bowl.
  2. Add color (optional) and mix until uniform.
  3. Stir in baking soda.
  4. Add contact solution slowly, one small squirt at a time, stirring after each addition.
  5. Knead by hand for 2 to 4 minutes.
  6. Soften the clay by stretching and warming it in your hands.
  7. Blend clay into the slime in small pieces, kneading until smooth.
  8. Fine-tune the texture by adjusting with solution or lotion as needed.
  9. Let the slime rest in an airtight container for 30 to 60 minutes.

Notes

Slime is not food. Supervise children and wash hands after play. If sensitive skin, limit play time and consider gloves.
