Ingredients
- Crayons (any color, old or new)
- Silicone molds (shapes like hearts, stars, or flowers)
- An oven or a toaster oven
- Parchment paper or aluminum foil
- A baking sheet
- A sharp knife (to chop the crayons)
- An old towel or cloth (to contain the crumbs)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
- Carefully peel the crayon wrappers off and chop the crayons into small pieces.
- Fill each compartment of the silicone molds with crayon pieces.
- Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Place the filled mold onto the sheet and gently slide it into the oven.
- After 10-15 minutes, carefully remove it from the oven.
- Let the molds cool completely, about an hour.
- Once cooled, gently pop the suncatchers out of the molds.
- If desired, punch a small hole at the top of each piece and thread a string or twine for hanging.
- Finally, find a sunny window to display your suncatchers.

This project is a creative way to reuse broken crayons and can be a peaceful activity for all ages. Ensure adult supervision when using the oven.
