Transform ordinary coffee filters into beautiful flowers with this simple DIY project that encourages mindfulness and creativity.

Ingredients

  • Large coffee filters
  • Food coloring or liquid watercolors
  • Cups or bowls for dyeing
  • Scissors
  • Green floral wire or pipe cleaners
  • Hot glue gun or craft glue
  • Optional: a small spray bottle for misting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Workspace: Choose a comfortable spot and lay down protective covering.
  2. Mix Colors: In cups or bowls, mix water with food color until desired shade.
  3. Dye the Filters: Submerge a coffee filter in dye and let it soak, then remove and dry.
  4. Layer the Petals: Stack three to four colored filters for each flower.
  5. Shape the Flowers: Pinch and twist the center of the stacked filters to shape the flower.
  6. Attach the Stem: Use floral wire or pipe cleaners to secure the flower base.
  7. Glue the Layers: Secure layers with hot glue if desired.
