Create a delicate window decoration with Lily of the Valley beads that catches and scatters light. This cottagecore-inspired suncatcher is perfect for beginners and makes a thoughtful gift.

Ingredients

  • Lily of the Valley beads
  • Fishing line or clear thread (1 length to suit desired hanging length)
  • A hoop or sturdy frame
  • Scissors
  • Glue (optional)
  • Decorative elements (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut a length of fishing line or clear thread to suit your desired hanging length. If you are unsure, leave extra length so you have enough to tie secure knots.
  2. Thread the Lily of the Valley beads onto the line. Space them or group them into a pattern you like.
  3. If using a hoop or frame, tie each beaded strand securely to it. To make a mobile instead, tie the strands together as desired. Check that every knot holds before lifting the piece.
  4. Attach any optional decorative elements. Use glue only if needed, and allow it to dry fully before hanging the suncatcher.
  5. Place the finished piece where it can catch sunlight. Make sure the hanging point is secure and that the suncatcher does not obstruct a window latch or opening.

Notes

Ensure the hoop or frame is strong enough to support the bead strands. Test that your beads fit the line before cutting it. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
