Create a beautiful pressed flower candle holder that brings nature’s beauty into your home while promoting mindfulness and creativity.

Ingredients

  • Fresh flowers (such as daisies, pansies, or roses)
  • Heavy book or flower press
  • Clear glass candle holder or small jar
  • Candle wax (paraffin or soy wax)
  • Wicks (pre-tabbed wicks work best)
  • Double boiler (for melting the wax)
  • Stirring stick or spoon
  • Heat-resistant surface (to work on)
  • Optional: fragrance oil (for scented candles)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the flowers: Begin by filling a book or a flower press with fresh flowers, lying flat without overlapping.
  2. Press the flowers: Leave them to press for about one to two weeks, enjoying their transformation.
  3. Melt the wax: Fill the bottom pot of a double boiler with water and bring to a gentle simmer; add wax to the top pot.
  4. Set the wick: While wax melts, secure it in the center of the candle holder with melted wax.
  5. Prepare for pouring: Once the wax is melted, mix in fragrance oil if desired.
  6. Layer the flowers: Pour a small amount of wax into the holder, let it cool, then place pressed flowers.
  7. Pour the final layer: Once the flowers are set, pour more wax over them, filling to the desired height.
  8. Final touches: Allow to cool completely, then trim the wick to about 1/4 inch above the wax.

Notes

Store the candle holder in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to preserve flower vibrancy.
