Instructions
- Make the cuff foundation chain. Chain 12.
- Work the first row. Make 1 single crochet in the second chain from the hook, then make 1 single crochet in each remaining chain to the end. Turn your work.
- Build the ribbed cuff. Chain 1. Working through the back loop only, make 1 single crochet in each single crochet across the row. Continue in this manner, turning at the end of each row, until the cuff measures 7½ inches. Measure the cuff without stretching it.
- Begin the mitten body. Follow the pattern’s body instructions, starting with a first round of 33 single crochet worked across the longer side of the ribbing.
- Work the texture. Make 16 Star Clusters as directed in the complete pattern.
- Shape the top. Chain 1, then make a single crochet in the first stitch. Continue by alternating a single-crochet decrease (sc2tog) with a single crochet to shape the top.
- Work the thumb. Join the yarn with a slip stitch to the first skipped single crochet of the thumb opening. Work single crochet to create the thumb structure.
- Make the second mitten. Repeat the process for the other mitten.
- Finish carefully. Weave in ends following the complete pattern’s finishing instructions.
