- 1 sturdy mixing spoon, 8 to 10 inches long
- 1 silicone spatula, 10 to 12 inches long, optional but helpful
- 1 reusable 16 fluid ounce plastic container with a tight lid
- 1 table covering, at least 24 by 36 inches, such as a washable vinyl tablecloth
- 1 pair disposable nitrile gloves, adult size, optional for messy hands
- 1 apron or old oversized shirt, optional
Instructions
- Cover your table before you open the glue.
- Set the covered table near a sink and gather every supply before you begin.
- Pour the full 5 fluid ounces of washable white school glue into the 1 quart bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup room-temperature water and stir for about 30 seconds.
- Stir in 8 to 10 drops of purple washable color gradually.
- Fold in 1/2 teaspoon of fine purple or silver glitter if using.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and stir until it disappears.
- Pour in 1 tablespoon contact lens solution and stir slowly for another 30 to 45 seconds.
- When the slime gathers around the spoon, lift it onto the covered table or into your gloved hands.
- Knead it for 2 to 4 minutes by folding it in half, pressing it down, and turning it over.
- If the slime clings to your fingers, add 1/4 teaspoon more contact lens solution and knead again.
- Place the finished slime in the 16 fluid ounce container and seal the lid.
- Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes before play.
