Materials for Bouncy Balls

  • 1 cup warm water Used to mix with borax and glue.
  • 1 cup white school glue Main ingredient for forming the bouncy ball.
  • 1 cup borax powder Essential for creating the ball's cohesive properties.
  • a few drops food coloring in red, white, and blue Add for festive color and spirit of Independence Day.
  • 1 mixing bowl For combining the ingredients.
  • 1 measuring cups To measure ingredients accurately.
  • 1 spoon or stir stick For mixing the ingredients.
  • 1 baking sheet or wax paper Used for drying the bouncy balls.

Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of borax powder until it’s fully dissolved to create the borax solution.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of white school glue with 1 cup of warm water. Stir until well blended.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring into the glue mixture, using red, white, and blue. Stir gently.
  • Slowly pour the borax solution into the glue mixture while stirring constantly until it starts to clump together.
  • Once the mixture begins to turn into a thick mass, use your hands to squish and knead it into a compact ball shape.
  • Place the formed bouncy ball on a baking sheet or piece of wax paper and let it dry for about 4-6 hours, or until firm.

Notes

Try different food coloring combinations for unique looks. You can also add glitter for a sparkling effect or glow-in-the-dark paint for nighttime fun. Adjust the size of the bouncy balls by using varying amounts of the mixture.
