  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup liquid starch You can substitute with contact lens solution and baking soda.
  • Red, white, and blue glitter (fine and chunky) Use a mix of both fine and chunky for best results.
  • Optional: food coloring (red and blue) For more vibrant colors.
  • Mixing bowl
  • Stirring stick or spoon
  • Airtight container for storage To keep slime fresh.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of white school glue with 1/2 cup of water. Stir until well mixed for a smooth consistency.
  • Add red, white, and blue glitter to the glue mixture. Use both fine and chunky glitter for varied textures and a festive look. Mix well!
  • If you want more vibrant colors, add a few drops of red or blue food coloring into the mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
  • Gradually add 1/2 cup of liquid starch to the glitter mixture while stirring continuously. You'll notice it begins to thicken and come together.
  • Transfer the mixture onto a clean surface and knead it by hand. If it’s too sticky, add a little more starch until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Once fully combined and smooth, store your glitter slime in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Notes

Customize colors by trying different combinations of food coloring for unique shades or a swirl effect. Add a few drops of essential oils for a pleasant aroma, or mix in foam beads or sequins for added texture. You can use clear glue for a transparent look.
