  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Cornstarch For dusting
  • Food coloring Optional, for enhancing appearance

Preparation

  • Start by preparing your molds. Lightly grease them or dust with cornstarch to ensure that the gumdrops release easily later on.
  • In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the mixture reaches a soft boil, then remove from heat.
  • Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the warm mixture slowly and stir gently until fully combined.
  • Add the flavored gelatin and lemon juice, mixing until the colors bloom creating a captivating swirl.
  • Optional: Add a few drops of food coloring and stir until the color is even throughout.
  • Pour the mixture into your prepared molds or baking dish and let it settle for a moment.
  • Allow the gumdrops to set at room temperature for several hours or until firm.
  • Once set, gently remove the gumdrops from the molds and roll them in cornstarch to avoid stickiness.
  • Enjoy your homemade gumdrops straight away or package them beautifully for friends and family.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for freshness. For longer storage, refrigerate while dusting with cornstarch to prevent sticking.
