Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut a piece of clear contact paper, around 12x12 inches.
  • Peel off one side to expose the sticky surface.

Creating the Design

  • Use the black marker to draw simple shapes like stars or stripes on another sheet of contact paper for your outline.
  • Alternatively, create patterns with a stencil for cleaner lines.

Cutting the Tissue Paper

  • Snip the red, white, and blue tissue paper into small pieces or shapes (approx. 1x1 inch) for a collage effect.

Assembling the Suncatcher

  • Place the cut pieces of tissue paper onto the sticky side of the contact paper base.
  • Overlay the drawn shapes to create your desired design, leaving some areas open for light to filter through.

Finishing and Hanging

  • Once satisfied with the placement, cover the suncatcher with another sheet of contact paper to seal it.
  • Trim away any excess edges, ensuring you maintain the desired shape.
  • Use string or fishing line to hang your suncatcher in a window or outdoors.

Notes
