Instructions
Preparation
- Clear a flat surface to work on, ensuring you have all materials at hand.
- Lay down a protective covering like parchment paper.
Molding
- Take a small amount of clay (about the size of a golf ball) and roll it into a smooth ball.
- Flatten the ball gently using the palm of your hand to create a disc shape.
Adding Texture
- Use your texture tools (e.g., leaves or shells) to press into the clay and create fossil-like impressions.
- Experiment with different patterns and designs.
Drying or Baking
- If using air-dry clay, leave your palmstone to dry for 24 hours.
- If using polymer clay, preheat the oven according to the packaging instructions. Bake your palmstone on a baking sheet for the recommended time.
Painting
- Once dry or baked, use acrylic paints to add details, colors, and finishes that mimic real fossils.
- Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding.
Sealing
- If you’ve used polymer clay, you may want to apply a sealant for added durability.
