  • 1 tablespoon Baking soda
  • 1 cup White vinegar
  • various drops Food coloring Various colors to create vibrant displays
  • 4 pieces Tall, clear plastic or glass containers Cups or jars work well
  • 1 tray Tray or baking sheet To catch spills
  • 1 set Small measuring spoons For accurate measurements
  • optional Eye protection For added safety, especially for kids

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Set up your materials on a tray or baking sheet to contain any mess.
  • Ensure you have your eye protection handy, especially for young participants.

Create Fireworks

  • Pour 1 tablespoon of baking soda into each container, making sure it is evenly distributed at the bottom.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to the baking soda to create vibrant colors; mix primary colors for new hues.
  • Carefully pour 1 cup of vinegar into each container with baking soda and observe the reaction as the mixture fizzes.
  • Watch as colorful 'fireworks' erupt from the containers. For enhanced visuals, take pictures or videos.

Notes

Consider using different container shapes and colors to experiment with effects. Clean up using water and soap after the experiment. Adult supervision is encouraged, especially for young children.
