Ingredients
  

Volcano Construction

  • 1 small container Small container or cup Acts as the volcano
  • 1 tray Tray or baking sheet To catch overflow
  • 1 optional Funnel For easy pouring

Volcano Ingredients

  • 2-3 tablespoons Baking soda Primary ingredient for the eruption
  • 1 cup Vinegar Reaction agent
  • as needed drops Food coloring Optional for colorful lava

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place your small container in the middle of the tray or baking sheet.
  • If desired, mold clay or playdough around the container to create a volcano shape.

Adding Ingredients

  • Pour about 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda into the container.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to the baking soda if you want colorful 'lava'.

Eruption

  • Grab your vinegar and prepare for the explosion.
  • Slowly pour vinegar into the container using a funnel, if available.
  • Watch in awe as the mixture fizzes, bubbles, and overflows, resembling a volcanic eruption!

Notes

Customize colors and add dish soap for interesting variations. Experiment with different ratios of baking soda and vinegar for varying eruption intensities.
