  • Small pot for heating To dissolve sugar in water.
  • Baking sheet or plate To catch any overflow during crystallization.

Instructions

Preparation of the Solution

  • In a small pot, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar.
  • Heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. This may take a few minutes.
  • Once dissolved, remove it from heat.

Mixing in Baking Soda

  • Stir in 1 cup of baking soda gently. You will notice bubbling; this is normal!
  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to create a vibrant effect.

Pouring into Mold

  • Carefully pour the mixture into your heart-shaped mold.
  • Place the mold on a baking sheet or plate to catch any overflow.

Allowing to Set

  • Let the mold sit undisturbed at room temperature for 24-48 hours until the mixture hardens completely.
  • Once hardened, gently remove the crystal heart from the mold.

Finishing Touch

  • Rinse the heart under lukewarm water to remove any white powder.
  • Set it aside to dry thoroughly and enjoy the stunning crystal effect!

Notes

Experiment with different colors of food dye for vibrant designs. For added scents, consider using essential oils mixed into the solution. Try different shapes using various silicone molds. Increase or decrease the sugar for larger or smaller crystals.
