Ingredients

For the dough

  • 1 cup baking soda Main ingredient for the dough
  • 1/2 cup corn starch Adds structure to the dough
  • 3/4 cup water To mix with baking soda and corn starch

Optional decorations

  • acrylic paints For coloring the snowman
  • buttons For eyes and other features
  • fabric For scarves or hats
  • ribbons For additional decoration

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup corn starch, and 3/4 cup water. Stir the mixture until it’s smooth.

Cooking

  • Pour the mixture into a cooking pot and place it on medium heat. Stir continuously as the mixture thickens into a dough-like consistency. Once it pulls away from the sides of the pot, remove it from heat.

Cooling

  • Transfer the dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes until it’s safe to handle.

Shaping

  • Once cool, knead the dough gently and divide it into three equal parts for the snowman’s body. Form the bottom part into a large ball, the middle part into a slightly smaller ball, and the head into the smallest ball.

Assembly

  • Stack the balls on top of each other, gently pressing them together.

Decoration

  • Use acrylic paints, buttons, and fabric pieces to bring your snowman to life. Add some personality with a scarf or hat!

Notes

Consider adding food coloring for colored dough, or mix in spices like cinnamon for added scent. Use the dough to create various winter-themed figures, not just snowmen.
