Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Mix slowly to prevent fizzing.
- Add 1/4 cup of corn starch to the mixture and stir until a dough forms.
Coloring
- Divide the dough into smaller portions.
- Add food coloring to each portion as desired, kneading until the color is even.
- Mix colors gently for galaxy effects to create swirls.
Shaping
- Roll out the dough onto parchment paper to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out galaxy shapes.
- Transfer the shapes to the baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Place the tray in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 2-3 hours or until the ornaments are completely dry.
Finishing Touches
- Once cool, optionally sprinkle glitter on top for additional sparkle.
- Using string or twine, create a hanger for each ornament.
