Instructions
Preparation
- Cut a piece of cardboard or sturdy paper into a tree-shaped base.
- Secure it on a shallow dish or tray to catch overflow.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water.
- Stir until it forms a thick paste.
Coloring the Tree
- If desired, mix in a few drops of food coloring to give your tree vibrant hues.
- Observe the color before moving to the next step.
Shaping
- Using your fingers or spoon, mold the baking soda paste into the shape of a tree on your base.
- Shape branches using pipe cleaners or cotton swabs sticking out from the main trunk.
Activating the Reaction
- Slowly pour 1 tablespoon of vinegar over your baking soda tree.

Final Display
- Allow the tree to dry and harden.
