Ingredients

For Decoration (Optional)

  • 1 set acrylic paints For decorating the cooled ornaments.
  • 1 roll ribbon or twine For hanging the ornaments.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup baking soda and ½ cup white vinegar. Stir gently; the mixture will fizz. Keep mixing until it settles.
  • Add ¼ cup cornstarch and knead the mixture into a dough.

Rolling Out the Dough

  • Place the dough on a clean surface and use a rolling pin to flatten it to about ¼-inch thick.
  • Enjoy the texture—it should feel smooth and pliable!

Cutting Out Shapes

  • Use cookie cutters to cut out your desired shapes.
  • For hanging, use a straw to make holes at the top of each ornament.

Baking the Ornaments

  • Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your shapes on it.
  • Bake for about 2-3 hours until they are hard.

Cooling and Decorating

  • Once baked, allow the ornaments to cool completely.
  • Paint and decorate them as desired; let any paint dry fully.

Notes

Tips: Add scents by mixing in spices like cinnamon, swap cornstarch with flour for different texture, use food coloring for colorful dough, and finish with glitter for extra sparkle. Store ornaments in a cool, dry place to make them last longer.
