Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of cornstarch, and 3/4 cup of water. Stir until you achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency.
- Pour the mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until it begins to thicken, resembling dough.
- Transfer the mixture to a clean surface, and let it cool slightly until it’s safe to handle. Dust the surface with a little cornstarch, then roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick using a rolling pin.
Shaping and Drying
- Use cookie cutters to create your desired shapes. Make a small hole at the top of each ornament for hanging.
- Transfer the shapes onto parchment paper and let them dry for at least 24 hours. After drying, optionally paint or decorate with glitter.
Finishing Touches
- Once dry, thread twine or ribbon through the holes and hang your beautiful creations!
