Ingredients
For the Ornament Mixture
- 1 cup baking soda

- 1 piece snowflake cookie cutter (or shape of your choice)
- 1 piece straw Used to create hanging holes in ornaments.

Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of white glue, 1/4 cup of cornstarch, and 1/2 cup of water.
- Stir together until fully blended into a smooth mixture.
Cooking
- Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to form a dough-like consistency (about 3-5 minutes).
Cooling
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly until it’s safe to handle but still warm.
Shaping
- Dust your countertop with cornstarch to prevent sticking.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thick using a rolling pin.
- Use a snowflake cookie cutter to cut out snowflake shapes.
- Carefully transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Creating Holes
- Use a straw to make a small hole in the top of each snowflake for hanging.
Drying
- Allow the ornaments to dry completely, which may take 24-48 hours depending on humidity levels.
- Once dry, they will feel light and rigid.
Decorating
- If desired, paint or glaze your snowflake ornaments for extra sparkle and personality.
