  • 1/4 cup corn syrup Adds texture and sweetness.

  • 1 Mixing bowl For mixing the ingredients.
  • 1 Spoon for stirring To mix the ingredients well.
  • 1 Silicone molds or ice cube trays For shaping the rocks.
  • 1 Baking sheet For drying the rocks.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of vinegar.
  • Watch the fizz as the vinegar reacts! This is a fun sensory moment.
  • Stir the mixture until the fizzing stops and you achieve a thick paste.

Assembly

  • If you desire, add a few drops of food coloring to the paste and mix well.
  • Optionally, place small treasures in the bottom of each mold to hide a surprise in every rock.
  • Spoon the mixture into your silicone molds or ice cube trays.
  • Press down gently to ensure there are no air bubbles.

Curing

  • Place your filled molds on a baking sheet.
  • Allow the treasure rocks to dry for at least 24 hours or until hard.

Finalization

  • Carefully pop the rocks out of their molds.
  • Admire your creations!
